More employee participation has been in the EMG / LUSINI statutes for some time. This year, interested employees were once again able to volunteer to have their say in laying out the strategic guidelines for the coming years. 48 colleagues from all areas, hierarchical levels and countries prepared themselves over the summer to then make the decisions in the big “strategy retreat”. A 2-day event in a specially erected tent not only promoted the discussion of the elementary topics of market, customer, competition and finances, but also positively underpinned the cohesion across national borders. Poker chips were used to simulate the use of budgets for the respective strategic fields of action: each participant could freely determine his or her stake and thus prioritise the strategies. The “strategy retreat” was broadcast live to the company in 10 recordings.
